Here are Chase & Carter's spring pictures from school.
The school used a new company this year, they did a pretty good job.
They actually got a good picture out of both of them!

Silly kids!!!
I've got some CRAZY kids, 4-legged kids that is! Bullseye & Molly are usually quite the comical dogs when I get the camera out. Baby could care less about the camera, as it requires her to hold still for too long!
Bullseye- sticking his tounge out at me as I'm trying to take his picture. I guess this is his way of telling me "don't take my picture, Mommy".

Molly has found a new perch. This window looks out into the backyard. Now between her two perch's she has most of the yard covered, she can always be on the lookout!

Memorial Day 2009
On Memorial Day, Legion Post 430 holds a ceremony at the cemetary to honor those who have sacrificed their life for our freedom.
The Boy Scout & Cub Scout troops join the Legion & march from the Legion Hall to the cemetary.

As the names of those soilders who have made the ultimate sacrifice are read the scouts place a flag next to their headstone. Here is Chase putting up a flag. Carter was on the other side of the cemetary so we couldn't get his picture. We've been doing this now for 5 years & this is the first year we've been sitting in the right spot to get a picture of them!

Also this year, joining Legion Post 430 in their march, was Joe Ryan. Joe is Chase & Carter's step-father. He returned from Iraq on May 16th, after being away from home for almost a year.

The she also sent me some pink floss, a magnetic notepad, some spring ribbon, pretty spring napkids, smarties (maybe since they're from Canada they will make me smarter?!?- LOL), heart buttons & 2 ornaments for my ornament tree.

The last track meet
Today was Chase's last track meet.
Here he is waiting for the sprint medley to get to him. He was pretty disappointed that he had to run the last leg of the race, the 400 meter. I actually got a smile out of him!

The last run of the meet. The kids have to pick to run either the 800 meter or the mile. Chase picked the 800 meter, this is him on his first lap.

Finishing the sprint medley.

The hand off from Sam in the 4 x 100 meter relay.

Patriotic
Here is the Lizzie Kate that I finished this weekend. It's missing a button on the flag but I have to find one that is small enough. There is supposed to be a sterling silver bell charm after "ring", that I don't have, but I'm going to look to see what else I can find to put there. So it's not quite finished but the stitching is done. :)
My 1st Framing
First let me start by saying thank you to Wendy for the GREAT framing idea for SanMan Original's Toadally series. Thanks, Wendy, for letting me steal your idea. :)
Here is how my Toadally Summer turned out. I bought the frame at Michael's, unfinished. I painted it a neutral tan, added a frog to the bottom corner, and on the top corner is a flower pot. Each month I will change the top corner ornament.

In the small box next to the frame is where all of the small monthly ornaments are. They are attached by velcro. Another great idea from Wendy!

I thought that the toadally series was a great compliment to my ornament tree.

Here is my new stash organization. I finally was able to get the plants back outside. This is our old entertainment center but it works great for some extra storage space.
On the left hand side- far left is my fabric, my stitching fabric, & the bottom tote is miscellaneous patterns from magazines and such. On top is a small tote of ribbon. And behind it is a plastic floss bobin container with buttons in it. On the right are three totes- one with WIPs, kits, & other miscellaneous stitching. On top is a small tote with my hot glue gun & supplies.
On the right hand side- right side is DMC 100- 800. With 2 small totes on top of tools & qsnaps. left side is DMC 900- 3800 & speciality flosses. In between the DMC totes is my SanMan journal.
It turned out pretty nice. And now my stash is all very accessible, which I really like!

On my perch
Here is Molly- on her perch. She loves to sit on the back of the couch & look out the window. She watches for Daddy to come home or her boys to walk home from school or she spies on the neighbors.

Spring Soccer
Jelly fish, goats, & lamas.... oh my!
Yesterday, I drove to Ankeny, to see my friend Jen & her daughter Leah. We went to Blank Park Zoo. Leah was such a treat!
Here she is, crawling through the tunnel to see the prairie "dawns", aka dogs.
+002.jpg)
There was a little park at the zoo. Of course it involved some water. So being a typical 2-year old, we had to play in it. She got "soakin & wet" & thought it was so funny!

Feeding the llamas.

Feeding the goats.

The jelly fish. I thought these were really cool. The picture doesn't do them justice. I stood & watched them for a while.... it almost looked like they were pulsating.

Gone Fishin'
We went to Lake McBride yesterday to do a little fishin'.
Here is Tim trying to catch the bass that spent the afternoon teasing us.
He almost had him. I tried to catch him for at least an hour before I gave
up. He was right there, just lookin at us..... he just didn't want to bite.
Here is one that Tim caught. Neither one of us really got too many bits.

If you experienced bloggers have any advice for me, I'd love to read it!
