Welcome!

I've finally caved & decided to start blogging. I hope I can keep it up-to-date. I'm totally addicted to cross stitching
(I've been told it's an old lady hobby, I guess that means I'm an old lady!) so there will be a lot of cross stitching posts.
There will be pictures of the kids, both 2-legged & 4-legged, Chase, Carter, Baby Hank, Bullseye, Molly, & Baby.
I hope you enjoy reading, I promise to try not to bore you too much. Thanks for stopping by for a visit!

A Bit of November

By Lizzie Kate

Camping

This weekend we took the kids to Lake MacBride to go camping.

With all the rain, we had the spillway was flowing fast. Usually the kids can play in the spillway, but not this weekend.

Here are the boys & Bullseye on the hill that overlooks the spillway.

Chase & his big catfish!

Carter fishing..... he didn't catch anything..... oh wait! He did catch his shoe on a lure!

Even Bullseye loved camping! We left the girls at home. With 2 kids, there was no way we were taking 3 dogs! :)

Welcome Baby

A highschool classmate had a baby last Thursday. So this afternoon, in between loads of laundry, I stitched up Lizzie Kate's, Welcome Baby. I hope to get it finished tomorrow, into an ornament or hanging of some sort & then get it in the mail on Tuesday.

Fireman's Celebration

This weekend was Fireman's Celebration/Durant Day's. It is the first year in 11 years, that we haven't had to be there ALL weekend long & that we could relax & just enjoy ourselves.

My Aunt had the boys on Saturday, for the parade & then for a while in the afternoon. They ran around the park & had tons of fun!

Carter- enjoying a corndog. I think he had two or three throught the day. He might have turned in to a corndog overnight!

Here is Carter riding the swings. It made my tummy feel sick just watching him go around, trying to get a picture of him. He loved it though, so that's all the counts.

Chase- playing a game, trying to win more toys.

More finishes for November

This one is by Vee And Company

Pumpkins for Sale- this one came from an old magazie, The Cross Stitcher, October, 2008. It was designed by Vicki Fisher. There is more to the design but I just did a portion of it, for an ornament.

Tea Dyed

Here is my first experience with tea dying fabric.

I am getting ready to start stitching for Christmas. My plan is to stich 1999- 2008 Lizzie Kate santas for my ornament tree. I didn't want just plain white for them, but since money is tight, buying a colored fabric was not in the budget right now. Twig suggested trying tea dying! So here is my first go at it, I dyed 10 pieces. They turned out pretty good, at least I think so, not having anything to judge them against as this is my first time. It's hard to tell by the pictures, but they turned out a light, light, light khaki color, but it gives the fabric enough color for those white santa beards. I can't wait to start stitching the santas to see how they turn out!

Gobble Gobble

Here is a turkey I stitched up real quick this afternoon. He still needs an eyeball.
He is from a magazine, Crafting Traditions, November/December, 1998 issue, that Twig sent me.

Good Dental Hygine

Applies to ALL members of the family!!!

A Boy & His Dog

Chase was sitting "indian style" on the couch last night & Bullseye came right up & plopped down in his lap.

We told Bullseye to "smile"......

Funny Baby Hank

Baby Hank spent the night last night while his Mommy had a hot date. He is starting to smile & coo more..... he's getting to be more & more fun. He turned 6 weeks old on Thursday, this week.

Swimming Party

The Cub Scouts had a swimming party at the Muscatine Aquatic Center last night. It was the last night of Katie's summer visit, so she went with us. They had a good time & were sad when it was time to go, they said "it's 10 o'clock already?!"

Here are Carter & Katie going down the blue slide.

The boys standing on the toys in the middle of the pool. They weren't supposed to but they did anyways..... imagine that.

Chase under one of the fountains.

Beer is GOOD!!!!

Just ask Molly! We can't waste a drop of that beer!

Finally...... I got a piece stitched

I feel like I didn't get a lot of stitching in this week. But today I finally got a piece finished.

Lizzie Kate- Welcome Fall- from Autumn things

Fluff & Stuff

And then of course once we take the eyes off the frog, it's time to play with the "fluff" inside the frog.

SOOOOOOOOOO.... Molly ripped his guts out.

And then Bullseye & Baby proceeded to eat the fluff.

Doesn't she loook proud of herself?!

Frog Vs Dog

So at the fair on Thursday, Chase & I played the dart game to win a toy for the dogs. It lasted all of a couple of hours.

First- Molly worked on taking the eyeballs off of the frog. None of our stuffed animals have eyes, she takes them off, guess she doesn't want them staring at her while she's playing with them.

Baby helped a little.

Here is the frog with one eye.

And a little while later- with NO eyes.

Mississippi Valley Fair

My Aunt & I were brave yesterday & we took the kids to the fair for the afternoon. After about 4 hours at the fair, we were beat, I think the kids could have gone a little longer, but not us, we were pooped!!! It was hot but not terrible hot. Overall it was a good afternoon, everybody had fun, & I know I slept like a baby last night.

The kids enjoyed the bumper cars.

Katie talked Carter into going on this ride with him.

They walked through the beach house.

And Chase parted with $6 of his precious money so he could bungee jump. He kept trying to flip over but couldn't get himself going enough.

Now that's a pig!

We took the kids to the Mississippi Valley Fair yesterday. After lunch we walked around in the barns, looking at all the animals. We saw horses & cows.... the usual farm animals that are shown. Then we came to Big Fanny! Holy pig!

HEY! WATCH OUT FOR THAT HAY...

bail twine!!!!

Chase was running after a kitty at his Grandma's farm & ran right into some hay bail twine. It hasn't turned black & blue, so that's a good thing, but it sure did leave a nice scratch!

A 4-Legged Verision of.....

PRINCESS AND THE PEA!
I sat my pillows out the other night to get ready to make my bed. Molly must not have been able to wait, she jumped right on top of the pillows & started to drift off to sleep. I always knew she was a princess!!!!

Baby had to take her turn too. Turns out she is a princess as well, which we already knew that!
